Anyone with the desire to help others learn and enjoy the game is encouraged to contact the S.A.C.C. for any of the following opportunities.

School Curling Instructor

We feel it’s important to support our community and want to give these youngsters an opportunity to safely ‘taste’ our sport.  This initiative also translates to significant government funding for SACC.

These are one hour time blocks (occasionally 2 in a row) to provide entry level instruction to school classes from grades 4 to 12.  The schedule varies but generally takes place in the early afternoon.  A large signup poster is prominently displayed at the SACC.  Please help your SACC if you can.

For more information, please see “About > Our Services > School Instruction” on our website.  Our 2022-23 schedule will be attached when we determine class schedules (Downloads – below).

Junior Program Instructor

These are one hour time blocks for each of the Junior Programs, every Thursday at 3:00 (Grades 4-7) and 4:00 (Grades 8 and up).  Help out with either one, or both.  You will receive support from certified instructors.

Junior Curling Coach

We encourage kids to enter High School Playdowns and to join the Inter City Curling League (we are not certain if this survived the Covid break in action).  We are often looking for team coaches to work with one team for the season.  The amount of time and effort you put into this is completely up to you and the team.  The S.A.C.C. Juniors will provide financial support to coaches wishing to take NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) training.

Learn to Curl Instructor

We run an annual ‘Learn to Curl / Improve Your Game’ clinic at the start of each season.  More instructors results in a better experience for the curlers.
