Congratulations!  We are so proud of you.  It is not an everyday occurrence that a team with Salmon Arm curlers has the chance to bring a National banner back to Salmon Arm!

Many members have asked how they can help these boys make their dreams come true.  Skip Kaiden curls Thursday Nights with team Cowell.  Proud parents Shannon and Scott Beck play Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings.  Here’s how YOU can help:

🥇 TEAM BECK (Team BC) FUNDRAISER 🥇

🥌 Team Beck will be representing BC Proud as Team BC at the upcoming 2024 Under 18 Canadian Curling Championships in Ottawa, Ontario, February 4-10, 2024 🥌

Please consider supporting Team Beck’s GoFundMe Campaign https://gofund.me/a0ca663a.

Even a small donation could help Team Beck Curling (Team BC) reach their fundraising goal. And if you cannot make a donation, it would be great if you could share the fundraiser link to help spread the word.

Did you know that the Merritt Curling club donated practice ice so that the boys could meet ~ ‘half’ way, in order to practice together?  Imagine the long drive . . .  ‘just to practice’.   These boys LOVE to curl and it shows.

To add to the drama, there were a few last minute injuries to players – Nolan’s sprained ankle playing pickup basketball, Harrison’s sore shoulder (all that sweeping) and Kaiden finding a hole to fall into while sledding down the ski hill on Christmas Day.  Only a few more things to give parent grey hairs!

They couldn’t say enough about the guidance, support, encouragement and time given by Coach Dale Hofer and feel extremely fortunate that he has been willing to selflessly dedicate so much of his time, energy and expertise to them.

We especially enjoyed the photo of the boys on the Canada statue . . . we’re hoping that it’s prophetic.  Go team go – good luck Feb. 4-10 in Ottawa!

We were also cheering hard for Team Tomlinson who currently play in TWO SACC Men’s Leagues!  This young team (formed only this year) was a dark horse going into the competition.  Young and less experienced but they too LOVE the game.  Back in the day, we would have called them our ‘rink rats‘ . . . we see them at the club prior to Monday and Thursday leagues, eating home made dinners and two of them play in our 4:00 Junior program.   Great kids, learning the game under coaches Ty and Laura Tomlinson.  Rounding out the team is 3rd Elias Rands, 2nd Ben Froese of Enderby, firecracker lead Noah Longland and they were led by skip Austin Tomlinson.  Check out their smiling faces . . . they’re the men in RED.
