Friday, Nov 8th saw SACC welcome 24 students from Germany, Spain and Taiwan and try the great Canadian sport of CURLING! Squeals of laughter, shouts of excitement and encouragement were the norm.
Only one of the students had tried curling previously – a young lad attending school in Armstrong. His experience . . . 2 games at the Armstrong Curling Club . . . just recently. He looked like a pro – well done Armstrong!
Now, the SACC is getting ready to host 13 classes from Grade 4 to 8 over the next 5 months. We hope that you can find time to volunteer to give these youngsters a taste of our sport, and to ensure their experience is both a fun and a safe introduction.
Thanks everyone! We have a great core of volunteers and couldn’t do these community events without YOU!
