It was a back and forth gold medal game with Team Blaeser scoring 3 in the 6th to take a one point lead, followed by a game ending steal of 4 in the 7th. Earlier in the event, Team Tam beat Blaeser in the A Qualifier with Blaeser winning the B and McKenzie taking the C.
Kaiden Beck from SACC skips the game with Nolan Blaeser of Vernon throwing 4th stones. Brother Nolan Beck of Salmon Arm, power sweeps alongside lead Koen Hampshire of Vernon. They are coached by Dale Hofer of Vernon.
Both teams qualified to represent BC at the U18 Nationals in Timmons, ON Feb 5-11, 2023!
Of great interest was the fact that Kaiden Beck was voted Most Sportsmanlike Player by his peers and coach Dale Hofer was recognized by his peers for the U18 Provincial Coaching Award.
Their opposition, the Adrian Tam team of Port Moody, played very well during the event. The Salmon Arm connection here? Tam has a very capable third, Austin Tomlinson of Salmon Arm playing for him! Congratulations to Austin and his teammates: Adrian Tam, Ethan Chiu, (second), Harrison Hyrnew (lead) and Coaches, Ken Krause and Ken Britz.
Team Blaeser is Team BC 1 with Team Tam designated as Team BC 2. Good luck to both teams – BC is very well represented! Bring home the Canadian banner!
