2024 Entry fee: $50 per person
Details for this fun event have yet to be finalized but suffice it to say that the focus is on fun . . . and competition. Salmon Arm will be hosting the Provincial Stick competition February 14-18, 2024 so we anticipate that some teams will be wanting to check out the ice in advance. 🙂
Questions?
Last year’s (2023) Set-up and Results were:
- 2 persons per team
- 6 rocks each team per end
- 6 end games
- 4 games
- Lunch, Prizes, Calcutta
- Top Ladies Team Prize
We had a great time at the club Saturday as we hosted 24 teams at our annual Salmon Arm Stick Bonspiel! Ten (and a half) local teams were joined by others from Enderby, Sicamous, Armstrong, Vernon and Penticton.
The winners of the A Block with three wins and a tie were our very own Peter Barton and Mike McKay who snuck it out with one end more than Team John Campbell and Darrell Sears from Armstrong (also with the same win/loss record). In fact the one tie that each had was against the other in a 3/3 game where each team won two ends.
The winners of the B Block were also from Salmon Arm, Team Don Druska and George Veenbaas, again with three wins and a tie and sneaking out more ends than the identical record of Enderby’s Betty Zarowny and Sandy Farynuk (who also took home top Womens Team prize).
Despite getting down on one knee, Dennis didn’t make it into the prizes. “Tunde, if he came home with a coffee maker as his prize, look for the Walmart receipt in his wallet.”
Thank you so much to our COO (Chief Organizing Officer) Kathy Crosbie and our wonderful volunteers for making this day a success.
